Episode 5: Good-bye Goddess

Hello. It is the narrator’s brother again. Anyway, the team is still in Kagakusha’s lab, and both Kiragi Aohiki and Mitsukai are unconscious, as well as Botan. With Kurama and Hiei taking care of Mitsukai and Aohiki, only Yusuke and Kuwabara are left fighting. Also-

The original narrator came running across the screen, laughing insanely. Free at last from the penguins torture! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

     B-brother?

     Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

A penguin came up to the narrator’s brother as other penguins started to carry the original narrator away. "Squank, Squank squank squank squank squank squank. Squank." (Sorry. Please excuse this interruption. Now for the rest of the show. Thank you.)

"Hey don’t ignore me! Rei-gun!" Yusuke yelled at Kagakusha as he fired his rei-gun.

Kagakusha dodged it easily. "So you can use your reiki! I will still kill you all!!"

Kuwabara ran up behind Kagakusha. "Not if I can help it!" He bashed the back of Kagakusha’s head with his baseball bat.

Kagakusha spun around and grabbed the bat. He swung Kuwabara into the wall. "Ow!! That hurt!!"

Kuwabara stood up and dropped his bat as blood dripped down his face. He raised his hand and wiped the blood away. "It was supposed to."

Kagakusha glared at Kuwabara and pointed at him. "You shall pay." The remaining robots turned toward Kuwabara and fired their lasers at him. He fell over unconscious.

"KUWABARA!!!!!!!!!" Yusuke screamed as he turned to face Kagakusha. "Damn you bastard! Rei-gun!!" He shot a large blast at Kagakusha.

Kagakusha darted behind his robots again and they got blasted to bits, again. Kagakusha smiled evilly at Yusuke. "How do you plan on beating me? All the rest of your friends are down." He glanced up at Hiei, and over at Kurama.

Yusuke clenched his hands into fists. "I’ve fought one-on-one nearly all my life. I can do it now. Just as long as you stop running away, and hiding."

Aohiki stirred in her unconscious state. "Oniisan… be careful… nn…"

     Hiei shook her shoulders. "Kiragi-sama!"

"Damn you…!" Yusuke held his hand up in the rei-gun position, he then tried to fire. What!? I can’t fire my rei-gun… I used too much reiki…

Kagakusha smiled evilly as if he could read Yusuke’s mind. "Now." He pointed at Yusuke. "You are done for." A robot smashed Yusuke into a wall with its large metal hand.

Yusuke was caught by surprise and had the breath knocked out of him. He coughed as he tried to breathe. "Damn bastard…!" He winced under the robot’s pressure.

"Power suitable for taking over the world. Wouldn’t you say?"

Yusuke wheezed as the robot continued to pin him against the wall. "Why… the hell do you want to take over the lame world… anyway?" He breathed hard. "Life out there is SCREWED UP!!"

Kagakusha lost his arrogant smile and glared up at Yusuke, who was still being held against the wall by the robot. "Do you really think I’m ignorant to the corruption of mankind? Of course not, my young friend. I plan to help Earth. But in order to do that, all humans must first learn to trust me, and know who their superior is."

Yusuke squirmed, and tried to loosen the robot’s grip. "Everyone is screwed up, including you, old man! If people like Aohiki and Koenma can’t fix Earth, you definitely can’t!!"

TPageBreak.gif (2299 bytes)

In Reikai, Koenma cheered. "Way to put one in for me, Yusuke!"

TPageBreak.gif (2299 bytes)

The robot pushed harder on Yusuke. His breath shortened, and he struggled to breathe. He was trying to push away the robot’s hand with his own hands and feet.

"I don’t need to listen to a brat like you!" Kagakusha yelled at Yusuke.

Yusuke got a good grip on the robot’s arm. "Then…" His eyes glowed, as well as his hands. "I will just have to kill you!" He blasted the robot apart with a surge of reiki.

"Yusuke, no!" Kurama screamed. "Don’t use your jinseiki!!"

Yusuke’s eyes were still glowing, and he seemed to have not heard Kurama. "It’s time to die, Kagakusha!!" He held up his hands in the rei-gun position once more. "Rei-gun!!!"

A large blast fired straight at Kagakusha. He did not even have time to dodge, and all that was heard was a long "Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!" before the blast deteriorated him.

"Damn… bastard…" Yusuke fell forward, unconscious, and near dead.

"…Yusuke…" Hiei looked down at the now finished fight.

"Oniisan…" Aohiki slowly opened her eyes.

Hiei looked down at Aohiki, who was in his arms, and threw her over his shoulder and jumped down from the ceiling. He let Aohiki off his shoulder and helped her walk toward Yusuke in silence.

"Oniisan…" Hiei let go of Aohiki and she dropped to her knees next to Yusuke’s dead body, and started crying. "You did this to save Earth… and us…" She cried green tears.

Kuwabara stood up and rubbed his head. "Huh? Urameshi!"

Kurama walked over to Yusuke, bend down onto one knee, and checked his pulse.

Kuwabara looked at Yusuke with worry. "Is he…?" Kurama just looked down. "Urameshi, you bastard! Why the hell did you do this again! You’re not about to die unless I kill you!!" He walked over to Yusuke, fell to his knees and started punching the limp body. Then he banged his fists into the ground beside him.

Mitsukai opened her eyes and crawled over to Yusuke’s body. "Urameshi Yusuke…" She sat down on her legs, and put her hand on his head. "You shouldn’t die yet… especially since I gave up a large amount of energy to help you win…" Yusuke’s body started to glow, and levitated into the air. Then it stopped and the body lightly fell back onto the ground. Mitsukai raised her hand off Yusuke’s head. "That’s all I can do for you…" She sighed.

Kurama looked at her. "What did you do…?"

Mitsukai looked sadly at Yusuke. "I’m not sure I did anything…"

Yusuke groaned and opened his eyes. "Who punched me…?" He sat up and looked around at them.

"Oniisan!" Aohiki cried as she threw her arms around Yusuke’s neck. "Thank you…"

"Hey, watch it!" Yusuke squealed as he tried to push Aohiki off. "That hurts y’know!" One of Aohiki’s green tears fell onto Yusuke’s scratched cheek, and the cut that was there, healed.

"Man, Urameshi!" Kuwabara yelled at Yusuke. "You had me scared for a sec, there! I really thought you were going to die this time."

Botan cradled a barely awake Aoi-chan in her arms. "I thought I would have to do the worst job of my life…" She looked up at Mitsukai. "Thank you so much Mitsukai-sama!"

"Sure…" Mitsukai said as she balanced in her sitting position. She closed her eyes. "So tired though…"

Kurama sat behind Mitsukai and had her lean against him. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah…" Mitsukai mumbled as she leaned against his chest.

"Alright, Goddess, that’s enough." Yusuke said as he pushed Aohiki off.

Aohiki sniffed and wiped a tear away. Then she tried to stand, but her legs would not support her weight. "Hnn…"

Hiei pulled Aohiki up by her upper arm. Then, once she was standing, he slid his hand down to her hand and he laced his fingers around hers. "You’re a pathetic ningen girl. You are not worth protecting." He muttered with a slight smile, never before seen on Hiei.

Aohiki stared at Hiei in surprise, then she smiled and looked down at Mitsukai. Are you okay?

     Yes…just weakened… I think I used too much energy… Mitsukai smiled. But it’s okay… I’ll be alright.

Kurama stood up and picked Mitsukai up into his arms. "You can’t walk can you?"

Mitsukai turned red as she wrapped her arms around Kurama’s neck, so as not to fall. "I-I don’t think so…"

Aohiki’s eyes turned wide suddenly and she stared straight at Mitsukai. Mitsukai-chan… I just received orders from Oniisama. He… wants us to do something. But I don’t think we have enough energy…Her knees gave way a bit, and Hiei turned to face her and supported her with his other hand.

Mitsukai looked at Aohiki over Hiei’s shoulder. What does he want us to do? I can barely read your mind… it better not be something important.

He… wants us to go home…Aohiki looked down, but Mitsukai continued to look at her intently. But we have to…erase everyone’s minds first. They have a case that requires their full attention. They can’t be distracted, even by memories.

Mitsukai just stared at her. You’re kidding, right? Why can’t they just remember us…? That’s not fair! "Aohiki!" Mitsukai stared at Aohiki with full anger. "Don’t let him do that!"

"What’s with the random yelling?" Yusuke asked as he looked between them.

Mitsukai, with some kind of renewed strength, jumped out of Kurama’s arms and walked over to Aohiki. "I won’t. He can’t make me."

"So you can stand and walk." Aohiki looked up at Mitsukai. "I don’t want to either, but we must. Oniisama’s orders…" Hiei let go of her hand and shoulder, and stepped back from her.

Yusuke looked at the two of them with an annoyed look. "What the hell are you two talking about?"

"Sudden burst of energy." Mitsukai sighed. "Isn’t there any way? We could just…" She looked at Aohiki with a pathetic, pleading look.

Kurama walked up behind Mitsukai and looked down at them. "What’s wrong, you two?" He put his hand on Mitsukai’s shoulder.

Aohiki looked at Mitsukai, then Kurama, then over at Hiei, who gave her a look. Then she looked over at Yusuke. Green tears swelled up in her eyes. "Our job is done in Japan, and Oniisan and his team are needed somewhere else. I can’t tell you now, but their next job is important. We can’t go against… Oniisama’s orders." She sniffed to hold back her tears.

Mitsukai, against her regular look, was also fighting back tears. "I get that! But why… why must we erase their memories?!"

"What?!" Hiei and Kurama exclaimed as they looked at Mitsukai.

"Great!" Aohiki started crying openly. "Now you’ve told them!" But this time, she had normal, salty human tears.

Hiei put his arm around her shoulder. "Aohiki-sama…"

Tears welled into Mitsukai’s eyes. "I’m sorry Aohiki! I just can’t do that!" She jumped into the air and flew over to a wall. She waved her arm out in front of her and the wall ripped apart, revealing a large outdoor landscape. She hovered off and flew under a tree, where she began to cry.

Aohiki turned and cried into Hiei’s chest. "But Oniisama said…"

Hiei wrapped his arms around Aohiki. "So pathetic…" He couldn’t help but look a little sad.

Kurama walked over to the tree Mitsukai was crying under and looked down at her. "Mitsukai-sama, please. You’re over reacting."

"How?!" Mitsukai glared up at Kurama. "How can you say that?!"

Yusuke looked angry. "I kicked ass! Why should I have to forget that?!"

     "So did I!" Kuwabara commented.

Botan walked over to Aohiki. "Koenma-sama is getting irritated…"

Hiei glared his deadly glare at her. "Tell Koenma to wait."

Kurama bent down and helped Mitsukai stand up. "Mitsukai-sama, it will be alright."

"How can you say that?" Mitsukai sniffed as she tried to wipe the tears from her eyes.

He smiled down at her. "Because, I know, we will meet again one day." He hugged her lightly.

She just stood there, leaning against him. "Kurama…"

Yusuke looked around at Hiei and Aohiki, then over at Kurama and Mitsukai. "This is all getting too touchy feely for me. How about we just start heading home?" He jumped up.

Mitsukai wiped her eyes, which were very red from crying. Then she and Kurama walked back over to the others. "Yes… Are you ready to at least go back to Tokyo, Aohiki-chan?" She asked as she looked at Aohiki.

Aohiki pulled away from Hiei and wiped her eyes. "Yeah. Let’s go." Her tail disappeared, and her aura changed back into that of Hana.

     Aoi-chan leapt into Hana’s arms from Botan’s. "Myuu…"

Mitsukai looked at Hana. "You want me to take us back to the city?" She held up her hand as she prepared to use her telekinesis.

Hana shook her head. "No. You need all your strength."

"So, how do we get back to the city?"

     Hana smiled. "By walking, silly."

Mitsukai smiled, then looked out the huge hole in the wall she had made, and saw a road. "But it is a long way." She looked back at Hana. "Do we even know where we are?"

"I have a solution for this!" Botan said suddenly. She held up her hand and her paddle appeared. "Everyone, hop on!" She said in her chipper voice as she jumped onto the paddle.

They all looked at the paddle, all realizing it was too small. Kurama sat down behind Botan and had Mitsukai sit in his lap.

Hiei sat on the paddle behind Kurama. "Goddess…" He looked away to hide the fact that he was slightly blushing.

"Thank you… Hiei." Hana cautiously sat on Hiei’s lap.

Kuwabara gave Botan a strange look. "Hey, Botan. I gotta free lap here."

"Sorry, but I can’t steer if I’m on someone’s lap." She looked up and smiled evilly.

"Aw man!" Yusuke cursed. "Don’t tell me…"

TPageBreak.gif (2299 bytes)

The paddle flew through the air on the outskirts of Tokyo with Yusuke in Kuwabara’s lap in the back. "This sucks." He mumbled as he crossed his arms.

"Oh Yusuke, stop complaining." Botan called back at him as they flew over the city.

Mitsukai glanced down at the bright lights of Tokyo, as it had become dark out. "Tokyo…" She sighed. "We meet again."

Kurama looked at her. "What’s that?"

Mitsukai shook her head. "Nothing. It’s just; I was born in Tokyo…"

"I thought you came from America?"

     Mitsukai smiled. "I do."

"Why the hell do I have to sit on Kuwabara’s lap?!" Yusuke complained again.

"I don’t like it much better, Urameshi." Kuwabara also complained. "You’re heavy!"

"Why you bastard!" Yusuke turned around and punched Kuwabara.

"Stop it you two!" Botan yelled back at them. "I’m trying to steer! Don’t make me come back there!"

     Yusuke crossed his arms. "Hm."

Kuwabara crossed his arms, but he had a slightly puffy and bloody lip. "Hm."

Kurama chuckled lightly. Mitsukai glanced back down at Tokyo. "I never did like heights…" She looked back at Hana and Hiei, they had been quiet most the ride. "How are you doing, Hana-chan?"

"……….." Hana was clinging onto Hiei’s neck for dear life.

Yusuke smiled and poked Hana. "Don’t worry Goddess. This thing’s perfectly safe." He slapped the back of the paddle. It fell a bit, but Botan saved it. Yusuke sweat dropped.

     Hana was stunned.

     Hiei gasped. "I can’t breathe…"

Mitsukai looked back at Hana. "Hana-chan…" She held up her hand and Hana let go of Hiei’s neck. "Relax. It’s alright. I won’t let you fall." Her hand glowed slightly.

     Hana was still slightly stunned.

Hiei rubbed his neck. "Whoever thought a goddess would be afraid of heights?"

Mitsukai smiled. "Yeah… Botan?" She looked back at Botan. "How much farther?"

"I’m landing right now." Botan brought the paddle down in front of Yusuke’s apartment building.

Hana climbed off the paddle carefully, then she sighed in relief. Mitsukai stepped down onto the ground next to her. "Are you okay?" Hana fell over and clung onto Mitsukai.

After everyone was off, Botan started to lift the paddle into the air. "Well, Koenma-sama wants to see me. I’ll see you later, everyone!" She said as she flew off.

"Finally! I don’t have an elephant sitting on me anymore!" Kuwabara yelled in relief.

"You’re fatter than me, bastard!" Yusuke yelled, as he punched Kuwabara again.

"I’m not fat! I have muscles!" Kuwabara started trying to punch Yusuke back.

"Hey!" Hana held up her hand, and Kuwabara and Yusuke were put in separate green bubbles. "I don’t feel well! Keep it down, please!"

Mitsukai was already by Hana’s side. "Is there something wrong? Did you break anything? Do you want me to heal it?"

Hiei had started to step forward, but put his foot down. Then he crossed his arms, and glared at Mitsukai.

Mitsukai smiled internally. Beat you to helping her.

Don’t forget, telepath. Hiei continued to glare at her. If need be, I will not hesitate in killing you.

That would make Hana-chan sad. Think of others for once… Hiei.

"I’m fine, thank you." Hana smiled at Mitsukai. "Heights just make me dizzy. And please stop fighting you guys."

     "Hn." Hiei just turned away.

"Gomen ne." Mitsukai pointed at Hiei. "He started it."

Hiei started to walk away. "I’m leaving."

"No, Hiei!" Hana whined. "Don’t leave!"

Hiei turned around and looked at her. "Why?"

Mitsukai glared at Hiei. "Have you forgotten? We need to erase your memories."

"In that case, I’m definitely leaving."

"Hiei, no!" Hana called at him sadly. "Only memories from this case, and Mitsukai-chan and I."

Hiei looked at Hana, and seemed about to change his mind, but then turned around. "See ya."

Mitsukai held up her hand. "You leave," Her hand glowed. "I’ll erase all your memories. Or if you don’t like that, I’ll crush your skull. So, if you really want to, keep walking."

Kurama walked over to Mitsukai and put his hand on her shoulder. "Don’t be so harsh on Hiei. He just doesn’t want to forget Aohiki-sama."

Hana looked down. "I’m sorry, Hiei…"

Kuwabara looked at Hana. "Do you really have to do it?"

     Aoi-chan crawled out of Hana’s pocket. "Myuu…"

Mitsukai lowered her hand. "S-sorry… Yes, do we Hana-chan?" She turned to look at Hana.

Hana nodded. "Yes… I’m ready. Are you?"

     Mitsukai sighed. "I suppose…"

Kuwabara walked over to Aohiki. "Nice meetin’ ya Aohiki-sama!"

Kurama took Mitsukai's hand. "Good bye Aohiki-sama, Mitsukai-sama…"

Hiei walked back over to the group. "Hn." He looked down at the ground.

"I’d miss ya Aohiki-chan." Yusuke smiled. "If I was allowed to remember you."

"I’ll miss you… all." Hana glanced at Hiei. "Mitsukai-chan." She looked at Mitsukai. "One…"

Mitsukai held up her hand. "Two…"

Hana grabbed Mitsukai’s hand, and they yelled in unison. "THREE!" And there was a large flash of light.

TPageBreak.gif (2299 bytes)

Yusuke sat up suddenly in his own bed, in his own room. "What?!" He looked around slowly. "I had a strange dream…" He rubbed his head. "But I can’t remember what happened in it…"

TPageBreak.gif (2299 bytes)

"Aw man…" Kuwabara was sitting up in bed, rubbing his head. "Why does my head hurt so much?" He looked at his clock. "Oh no! I’m going to be late for school!"

TPageBreak.gif (2299 bytes)

Kurama was standing next to the window in his room, in the Minamo residence. "That was a strange dream… if only I could remember what it was about… And why…" He looked out the window. "do I feel so sad…?"

TPageBreak.gif (2299 bytes)

Hiei sat up in his tree in the park. "What the hell?! I almost never dream…" He looked around. "And why can’t I remember it?!" He jumped off the tree branch he had been sleeping on. "I need to go to Reikai." He swiftly disappeared.

TPageBreak.gif (2299 bytes)

"I’m honored that you came to visit Japan, Aohiki-sama, and Mitsukai-sama." Botan said as they stood by the terminal in the Tokyo airport.

"Shh! Not so loud!" Hana quieted her.

     "Right, sorry." Botan sweat dropped.

"Now that Kagakusha is dead, we have no reason to stay in this country." Mitsukai crossed her arms. "I don’t even like Japan."

"Botan-chan, don’t you have to deliver Yusuke’s next case to him? Why are you here?" Hana asked.

"Hiei’s taking it to him." Botan smiled.

     "Is that a good idea?"

     "I don’t know…"

     "What’s the case?" Mitsukai asked.

Hana turned to talk to Mitsukai. "It’s the reason why Oniisama wanted us to erase their memories."

"Yes… I know…" Mitsukai looked down. "We should go now… they’ve started boarding the plane…"

"See ya, Botan-chan." Hana said as she and Mitsukai walked over to the ticket counter.

Don’t get in any more trouble! Koenma said in Hana’s mind.

That’s going to be hard. Hana thought back.

"Myuu! Myuu!" Aoi-chan squealed from Hana’s shoulder.

Mitsukai picked up their carry on bags and walked up to the terminal gate. "Sayonara Botan-san! I’ll see you in another seventy years or something. Come on Hana-chan." She forced a smiled, even though it looked very much fake.

"Let’s go." Hana also forced a smiled. "See you!" She walked onto the plane, with Mitsukai following.

Botan sighed as she watched them leave.

TPageBreak.gif (2299 bytes)

"Yusuke!" Atzuko yelled. "Wake up! You’ll be late again!"

Yusuke opened the door to their apartment and walked out. "I know. I’m going."

"Hold up!" Atzuko ran to the door and threw his school bag. "Here, your bag!"

"Yeah." Yusuke waved his hand and got hit on the head.

"Be sure to go to school now!"

"No faith at all." Yusuke smiled and jumped down over the balcony of the apartment, than started running down the sidewalk. "Every morning, every morning! This makes for good exercise!" He noticed a black figure darting on the opposite side of the street. Then he stopped. "Oh, Hiei, it’s you."

Hiei jumped down in front of Yusuke.

"Don’t scare me like that! Hey, what’s the matter?" He walked toward Hiei. "Have you started stalking me or something, with my over flowing charm?"

Hiei held up a video in Yusuke’s face.

     "What’s that?"

     "It’s from Koenma."

"Koenma? What happened to Botan?" Yusuke took the video.

"I don’t know. I was told to deliver it."

"Okay, fine. Thank you." He looked at Hiei. "What’s the matter?"

Hiei disappeared in his darting fashion.

"He’s a strange one." In the distance the school bell rang. "Oh no!" Yusuke started running down the sidewalk, as Hiei watched from a near by telephone pole.

And Hana and Mitsukai were already above the ocean, on their way home to the United States.
