Chapter 11: Jadsy's Birthday

Jadsy listened to the radio's weather forecast. It'd be snowing
again. The HQ wasn't that far south of her home town and it was
strange because it didn't snow up there. She wasn't quite used to
getting snow on her birthday...

* * *

Joey popped in from her shopping trip in town. She had a black
plastic bag slung behind her shoulder. She tried to sneak into the
lab to hide the contents of the bag (nobody would dare to sneak
in there after Magick and Jads had told everyone about the death
ray she had in there) but was caught.

"What's in the bag Joey," asked Tac, who the writer is now
thinking has too big of a part in the chapter already.

Joey turned to him. "You mean you didn't know?"

"Know what?"

Joey gave him a funny look. "That Jads' birthday is today!"

Tac laughed. "I'm not a psychic pokemon like you and she
hasn't quite told anybody."

"Your right. I guess now it's gotta be my job to tell everyone
that Jadsy's birthday is tomorrow and that they should all go and
get her something. You should to before the stores start
closing."

"It's only noon."

Joey scowled at him. "No need for procrastinating," she replied
before going to hide the present in her lab.

Writers note: Tac had too much of a part in that last
conversation. But I guess I'm gonna have to give him at least
some part if he's gonna be a villain. *mumbles incoherently*

Pelican blinked. "Her birthday is today!?!"

"Yup." Joey was standing at the door with her arms crossed. She
had already told everyone else around the head quarters
amazingly without Jads finding out. "You should go and get her
something."

He looked in his wallet and frowned. "I know. Um... can you
lend me some cash maybe?"

"No," replied Joey before wandering back to her lab to try and
wrap the gift she had gotten for Jads. She locked the door behind
her then opened the closet looking for wrapping paper.

This wasn't so smart because she had forgotten that she never
bothered to organize it so a pile of stuff fell on top of her. After
digging her way out from under the pile of junk she managed to
find some old wrapping paper, scissors and tape. Then she
stuffed all the other junk back into the closet.

She cleared a table of some chemicals and undeterminable stuffs
off onto another table then lay out the wrapping paper flat. She
pulled the gold pokeball out of the bag she'd brought home and
smiled as she held it up to the light. She saw through the semi
see-through top the pokemon asleep inside. 'This will make the
perfect edition to her team,' she thought.

"How in the hell am I supposed to wrap this thing?" Joey stood
there holding up the pokeball, looking to it and then the
wrapping paper, then back to the pokeball. After about ten
minutes she eventually put the pokeball down then opened the
closet again looking for a box. History repeated itself.

After stuffing everything into the closet again she walked back
to the table and set a box in the middle of the wrapping paper.
She set the gold pokeball into the box and closed it. Then
without any skill or neatness she attempted to wrap the box.
After about 15 minutes of tearing paper and trying to tape it up
again she ended up with a box that looked like it was mostly
wrapped with tape.

"Good enough," she said and walked out of lab.

When she got back out she found that a few people were already
back. (Including the person whom I, the writer, think has way to
big of a part in this fan fic so that's why he's not gonna be
mentioned!) Magick was sitting in a chair that Dreana usually
sat in, and Joey when she was in her mew form. She was looking
overly depressed.

"Magick you look overly depressed," Joey said while sitting on
the couch where annoying person, who will not be named
because the writer doesn't like him, was also sitting.

"Duh. You turned me into a mew! Of course I'm overly
depressed," Magick snapped in and obviously overly depressed
and pissed mood.

He who shall not be named said something incompetent, then
Joey said, "I already told you that wasn't my fault."

"What will my parents think," asked Magick who wasn't paying
attention to Joey or the incompetent one who will not be named.

"Hey how come your being so mean to me Writer," asked the
incompetent one.

<Because I don't like you.>

"Well I don't like you either! I think you're a meanie poo poo
writer!"

"Quit arguing with the Writer, Tac," warned Joey.

Tac stuck his tung out at her. "I can argue with the writer all I
want thank you very much, Joey."

<heh heh heh...>

"Wait I didn't like that laugh..." Tac said before being trampled
by a huge mob of snorelax.

Magick poked the writer. "Can we get back to the fan fic now?"

<Oh yes right!>

* * *

Jads walked back into the HQ with the groceries that Dreana had
sent her out to buy. The lights were off for some reason. It was
only about 8:00 so it was weird cause everyone couldn't have
possibly gone to bed at this hour, especially Joey...

Setting down the shopping bags, she clapped her hands twice
(because the HQ had one of those really cool clapper light
systems) and the lights turned on revealing a big banner that
read "Happy birthday Jads" and the rest of the HQ decorated
with balloons and all that other party stuffs.

Jads wasn't entirely surprised. She knew that the others had
been sneaking around a bit, but they always did that. She
noticed that Tac was lying on the floor, looking a bit flattened.

"Tac, did you insult the writer again?" Jads asked.

<Yes.>

"Not directly."

<Liar.>

"Probably deserved it," Jads mumbled. She put the bags in the
kitchen, then looked around for the others. "Are they out doing
something without me, or are they just hiding?" Jads thought to
herself. She wandered around the cabin a bit longer, than went
into her bedroom, which was also decorated.

As Jads was looking around in her room, Tac was getting up off
the floor.

"Stupid writer," Tac thought.

<Tac, haven't you learned your lesson about that?>

"What the..."

<Hey, I may be a different writer, but I still don't like you.>

"Since when are there two different writers on a story?"

<Don't ask questions. It gets you in trouble.>

"But I wanna know!"

<Fine then. Only two words: writer's block. I'm the backup for
the writer.>

"Different or not, I still hate you."

<You're pushing it.>

Jads walked in a few moments later. "Who are you talking to
Tac?"

"The writer," Tac replied. "Isn't that right?"

<*silence*>

"Are you feeling okay Tac?" Jads asked.

"I swear I was just talking to him!"

Jads only shrugged her shoulders. "You need a shrink." She
then walked outside to find the others.

<Heeheehee...>

"What was that for?"

<I already told you. It's because I don't like you.>

"But now everybody thinks I'm nuts!"

<In that case, my mission is accomplished.>

"Are you finished?"

<For now, yes.>

Jads walked around to the back of the cabin where there was a
large hole in he ground, which led to the underground
headquarters. She jumped down, then walked down the large
tunnel to where the massive door was. Amazingly enough, the
door was open.

"Why is the door open?" Jads thought out loud. "Joey always
make sure it's shut and get mad if anybody leaves it open."

Jads opened the door a bit further and walked inside. The lights
were off, so she fumbled around for the switch for a few seconds
then found it. She flipped the switch and the lights came on, and
moments later she was tackled by Luke.

"I suppose there was a reason for that," Jads said while getting
up.

"Actually no," Luke replied. He laughed, then zipped over to
the other side of the room with amazing speed.

"Anthros . . ." Jads thought before following him.

She came into another room and was surprised to discover that
the others still were nowhere to be found. She gave up, then
headed back to the cabin. When she stepped back inside,
everybody yelled "surprise!" and Jads nearly had a heart attack
from being startled so much.

"What the heck are you people trying to do kill me or
something," She asked with a slight tone of annoyance.

"No. We don't actually kill anyone for a whole bunch of
chapters," Joey said with a cool smirk. "Isn't it cool being on the
good side of the writer?" Tac gave her a look of pure evil.

"So how did you know it was my birthday? I tried not to tell
anyone cause den I'd feel guilty."

Dreana sat on Joey shoulder. "It's kinda hard to keep a secret
round here Jadsy," she said.

Joey smiled. "Dat's right. Let's not worry about what other
secrets I know and party!"

So there was a big party at the tr47 cabin for Jadsy's birthday.
The party lasted til 3:00 in the morning when everyone decided
to head back to the underground HQ for some sleep.

Writer: Ok that ending totally sucks! I lack a better ending...
Forgive me! Anyway I guess I should give well deserved thanks
to Luke for getting me rid of that horrible case of writers block. I
ow you one man!
