Team Rocket47's Bestest Fanfic
Chapter 19: Fear for the Worst

Dreana didn't know what to do. Joey hadn't responded for the
past half hour. For all she knew, the purple mew could be dead.
And it was all her fault.

She was sitting in her chair sulking over everything that had
gone wrong that day, when she heard a knock at the back door.
It was the only entrance they had left open, because they
couldn't allow Team Rocket or the police to find the
underground base.

Quickly she got up and zoomed to the door and asked, "Who is
it?"

From the other side of the door, a familiar voice answered, "It's
only Kat, Dreana. Now let me in."

Dreana winced. Kat didn't sound happy at all. But there was no
point in trying to avoid facing Joey's best friend, so she
reluctantly opened the door.

Kat had her arms crossed, and her blue eyes were fixed into an
angry glare. With the scar across her eye, she looked even more
dangerous then normal.

She walked in slowly then turned to Dreana, who was closing
the door. With a voice as cold as ice she asked, "What happened
to Joey?"

Dreana could only look down. "I don't exactly know what
happened. Last time I heard from her she was being held at
gunpoint by Tac. To tell you the truth, I think she's already dead
by now."

Kat choked back a sob, and her cross expression turned into
sadness. Deeply hurt by Dreana's words, she sat down on the
floor and began to cry onto her knees.

Dreana floated down and put a small arm over Kat's shoulder
and softly said, "I'm sorry, Kat."

More tears fell from the mewtwo's eyes under Dreana's
comforting touch. "I never wanted her to join up with Team
Smak, because I always worried that something like this would
happen. I told her that she shouldn't listen to that noctowl girl,
but she did anyway. And now...." Kat cried harder now. "Is there
any way that she can still be alive, Dreana? Any possible way
that Joey could have survived?"

Dreana thought hard. "It's possible that Ira could have gotten
there in time to stop Tac, so she'd still be alive."

"But wouldn't she have responded by now?" Kat asked, still
unbelieving.

"She could be unconscious, and therefore couldn't respond,"
Dreana answered.

A long pause followed as Kat was thinking everything over.
Then with one three fingered hand, Kat wiped the tears from her
eyes and stood up. "I'm going to stay here."

Dreana looked up to her. With a tone of shock in her voice she
asked, "What?"

"I'm going to stay here until Joey gets back." Kat gave Dreana a
threatening look and dared, "And I want to see you or anyone try
and stop me."

Dreana was hesitant to allow Kat to stay because she wasn't a
full member, but then she remembered all the help that Kat had
given Team Smak and Team Rocket47. Finally she accepted
saying, "You can stay if you like. But I can't guarantee that
she'll ever come back, and you know that."

Kat nodded but said, "I have faith in her. She'll come back, she
just has to."

"I hope you're right Kat."

Aly was flipping through the channels on her TV, hoping to find
something about what happened to Ira and Joey on the news.
Since Tac had called the police, they'd probably have a special
report if either were captured, or if the police found them both
dead at the cabin. She was hoping dearly that the second
scenario wasn't true.

After a few moments of changing channels and worrying, Aly
found what she was looking for. Channel 13 was about to show
a story on the arrest of two Team Rocket47 members. She gave
a sigh of relief, then quickly called Dreana in.

Dreana entered a few seconds later followed by Kat, which was
a bit unexpected.

"Hey, Kat. You probably know about Joey by now," Aly said.

Kat, looking sad, replied, "Yeah. I just hope she's ok...."

Aly pointed to the screen. "They've got a story on what
happened so shush and listen."

All three watched the tv story that was now starting. On the
medium size screen, a female reporter was standing at the scene
of the Team Rocket47 cabin, which was previously the cabin
that Ira and Jads had spent three years together in. What made it
worse was that the cabin was lit on fire.

"The blazing inferno you see behind me," announced the
reporter, "was the base of the notorious Team Rocket47. After
the police captured two members, a 13 year old boy and a badly
injured purple mew, they were taken to jail. The name of which
jail has yet to be announced, because the other members are still
at large. Back to you at the studio, Nick."

Aly then muted the TV and looked to the two psychic pokemon.
"So now we know that both of them are alive, but they said that
Joey was badly injured. They also didn't say where they were
taken because they obviously knew we were gonna be watching
in to see where they were." She looked directly at Dreana.
"What do we do boss?"

Dreana pondered before replying, "You keep watching the news
for anymore information, and Kat and I will check the police
computers for anything helpful."

Aly nodded then answered, "Ok. I'll see what I can do."

Kat was looking a little more cheerful then when she entered.
She gave Aly a small hug then said, "Thanks for finding that
story Aly." Then she followed Dreana out.

After the two left, Aly turned back on the volume, where the
reporter named Bob was still talking about the capture of Joey
and Ira.

"And finally the police would like to thank the anonymous
informant who gave the police the location of the Tr47 base.
And now with the weather-"

Aly killed the volume again and growled. To herself she said,
"Tac is going to pay for what he did to Joey...."
