Team Rocket47's Bestest Fanfic
Chapter 20: Feared Reputation

The stars were beginning to show on the velvet blue sky, but Ira
could only see them from behind bars. And of course, he didn't
find this very fun.

Ever since he had gotten mixed up with Team Rocket, he had
always dreamed of fun, adventure, and running from the police.
But since he joined up with Team Rocket47, his dream was now
shattered into the face of reality. The reality that being stuck in
jail wasn't as fun and adventurous as it seemed, and getting shot
in the ankle really hurts.

What made the whole ordeal even worse was the fact that he was
worried sick about Joey. He didn't have a clue where they took
her, or if she was even still alive. It was also all his fault. He
kept thinking to himself of how he should have believed her all
those months ago. And if she did die, he'd never get the chance
to apologize for everything.

While looking out the barred window, he heard the sound of the
door opening from behind. Ira quickly turned around to see one
of the Officer Jenny's enter his cell, closing the door behind her.

The first question he asked before she had the chance to sit
down next to him on the bed was, "Where's Joey?"

Officer Jenny sat down next to him and replied, "I'm going to be
the one asking questions here, young man. But if you insist on
knowing, your mew friend has been taken to the local hospital."

Ira breathed a sigh of relief. Jenny cleared her throat, calling his
attention. With a more stern tone she asked, "Now you tell me
where the other members of Team Rocket47 are."

"I'm not going to tell you that or anything for that matter," he
replied while remembering what Dreana told him about never
revealing the location of the base.

The blue haired police officer leered, her patience running short.
"Well if you won't tell me that," she said. "Then why don't you
tell me how both you and your friend were injured."

Ira wondered if he should tell her the real answer, while looking
down to his right ankle, which had a bandage on it. After a small
hesitation he answered, "A traitor from Team Rocket tried to kill
Joey and when I tried to save her he shot my ankle."

"And what happened to this traitor?" Officer Jenny asked.

Ira growled softly before saying, "He ran off like the coward he
is."

Jenny wrote a few notes on the notepad she had brought then
continued her questioning with, "Was this person the same one
who sent in the anonymous call about the location of the Team
Rocket47 base?"

"Yeah, most likely." Ira was still looking down at the his ankle.

Officer Jenny wrote this down on her notepad as well. Then she
asked, "Would you happen to know this persons name?"

"His name's Tac," Ira quickly answered, hoping that Tac would
get arrested too.

After writing Tac's name down in her notepad, Jenny closed it
then stood up. "Thank you for the information, Ira. I'll keep you
informed on your friends status."

Ira glanced to her and replied, "Thanks." Then he looked to the
window again as Officer Jenny left the small cell and locked the
door behind her.

It was fairly quiet after Jenny left, except for the whispers he
could hear from the other prisoners of the jail. They all knew
about his arrival, and seemed to be somehow afraid of him.

But he guessed reputations could do that. From what Ira could
hear, most people assumed that Team Rocket47 members were
evil and enjoyed torturing pokemon. They also said that Tr47
members would kill any Team Rocket member on site. Another
rumor was that Team Rocket47 was really a branch of Team
Rocket used to kill off the weaker members.

But all these rumors were completely false in truth. The base of
the lies did make some kind of sense, seeing that most of the
other people in the jail were the weak members of Team Rocket
who were too stupid to avoid getting caught. But it was still
depressing to Ira to hear such dishonoring rumors spread about
his own gang.

"Hey kid!"

Ira looked up to the source of the voice to see a dark green
haired girl looking over the wall.

In the jail, the walls of the cells didn't raise all the way to the
ceiling. Instead, there was about 6 inches of space between the
ceiling and the wall, allowing the prisoners of the jail to talk
with their neighbors.

Boredom in his voice, Ira replied, "What?"

The girl sounded cheerful. "Well you don't sound too happy,"
she said. "Everyone's saying that you're one of the Team
Rocket47 members who were captured."

Ira looked at her quizzically. "And what's your point?"

"Well are you?" The girl was sounding more exited now.

"Yeah I am. The name's Ira."

"Come up here!"

"I can't. This guy shot my ankle."

"Aw..... Can't you try?" pleaded the girl.

Ira sighed, then with a bit of trouble, stood up on his be to face
the girl.

She smiled and announced, "It's so great to finally talk to
someone who's not a Team Rocket member, Ira."

Ira was a bit surprised. "You're not a Team Rocket member?"

The girl shook her head. "Nope. I'm Jade of the famous Team
Rocket12."

Ira smiled. "I've heard of Team Rocket12 before. You fight
against Team Rocket like we do right?"

"Yup. And all these pathetic Team Rocket members keep
thinking we're evil or demonic or something." Jade sighed. "We
may be evil to them, but in fact they're the bad guys."

"Yeah. So how long have you been here, Jade?"

"Over a year now," she announced sadly. "My friends have tried
to break me out, but none of the attempts have worked."

"Maybe when my friends come to rescue me, they can break you
out too."

"No, you shouldn't bother. This is the hardest jail to get out of
trust me. You're friends would probably get caught too if they
tried to break us both out."

"Oh...." Ira looked down.

Jade patted him on the shoulder. "Don't worry about me. Listen,
you should rest that ankle now. It was great talking to you
though."

Ira looked back to her. "It was nice talking to you too. I'll see
you in the morning then."

She smiled. "Ok then. See ya." Then she dropped out of site.

Ira sat down again, thinking over what he and Jade had talked
about. This was the hardest jail to get out of, she had said. He
began to wonder if he would ever get out, or if he would have to
begin to call this cell his home.
